How to plan an acoustic wall panel installation

A good panel installation starts with the wall and layout. Use this checklist to prepare, then follow the fitting instructions for your exact panel and chosen fixing system.

1. Measure the finished area

Measure the width and height at several points, because walls and ceilings may not be square. Mark doors, sockets, switches and any skirting you intend to retain. Decide where the first full panel starts and where a cut edge will finish.

2. Check the substrate

The wall must be suitable for the panel and fixing method. Identify its construction and address loose finishes or moisture problems before covering it. An adhesive or screw arrangement suitable for one wall may not suit another. Confirm the substrate and fixing requirements with the product guidance or your installer.

3. Choose the panel size and direction

Selected Series 1 finishes offer 240 × 60cm and 300 × 60cm sizes. Premium panels are 260 × 30cm in two-packs, while square tiles are 60 × 60cm in four-packs. Plan vertical or horizontal slats before calculating quantities. Check that a longer panel can be carried through your access route.

4. Plan cuts and edges

Mark cuts carefully and follow the supplier's cutting instructions and tool safety guidance. Check for concealed services before drilling. Electrical alterations should be handled by a competent professional. Browse end trims and confirm the profile, finish and length match the panels.

5. Confirm the installation system

If you need a specified acoustic result, follow the exact assembly covered by the product's test evidence. Do not assume direct fixing and mounting over a cavity deliver the same result. Ask for product-specific instructions before starting.

For quantities, read our panel measurement guide. Keep packaging and unused material protected until you have checked the delivery and completed your layout.
